Jozef Nuyens
Founder & CEO, Speakerheart™
Jozef Nuyens' music industry experience is put into practice at Speakerheart as he leads the charge to redefine the business model for the independent artist. For the past 20 years, Nuyens has been president & CEO of one of the most successful recording studios in the Southeast, recording more than 300 Gold and Platinum artists from around the world. Additionally, he has personally been a nominated producer for three Grammy Awards in the past six years. And at the same time, he has built a publishing company catalog with more than 500 songs, many already recorded and released by major label artists in many genres of music.

Nuyens is both a visionary and pioneer. He founded Castle Productions, Castle Publishing, Castle Recording Studios and Tower I & Tower II Publishing companies (A joint venture with the Time-Warner's Warner-Chappell). The Castle Recording Studios was the first digital "high tech" recording complex in the Southeastern U.S. It quickly earned the respect of the industry, starting a new recording revolution in the region. Nuyens also founded NAPRS (National Association of Professional Recording Services) and served as its president. He developed more than 95 professional companies as members of NAPRS in its first three years. In addition, the Castle is the only music facility in Nashville that developed rock, pop and R&B for many years. Castle Productions, in turn, was given recognition for expanding musical diversity in the Southeast.

Born and raised in Europe, Nuyens toured the world as a recording artist, toured with other artists as a musician and singer, and enjoyed a successful career as a session musician and singer prior to settling in America and launching the Castle companies. During the 1980s, he entered into a record label joint venture with Clive Davis' Arista Records.

Nuyens graduated Magna Cum Laude with a BA in Music Business and Commercial Music from Belmont University where he also won the International Student Award. Nuyens has also served on several boards including Leadership Music, SPARS, NARAS, CMA, NEA and Belmont University's School of Music.

Nuyens' personal goals include continuing the entrepreneurial spirit that creates positive and lasting change for others. He lives in Brentwood, Tennessee with his wife, Candace, and their three children.
